Three separate guest houses in the wooded grounds of a large private country house.

ACCOMMODATION

Paxton Hill House has 3 different choices of accommodation. For your stay with us, you may choose between
The Garden House, The Lodge and The Loft.

We have been certified be Visit Britain as 'Good to Go' in relation to COVID-19.

 

 

The Garden House

Charming secluded wing of large country house overlooking lovely mature gardens. Completely self-contained with its own courtyard garden.

Sleeps up to 5.

Ground floor
Entrance hall, dining room, cloakroom, large kitchen/breakfast room with AGA, oven and dishwasher. French windows from dining room and kitchen open on to private walled garden. Washing machine and tumble dryer. 

First floor
2 twin or double bedrooms one with hand basin, large sitting room, bathroom with bath/shower and WC with hand basin. Sofa bed in sitting room. Oil fired central heating.

Parking available for 2 cars. WiFi provided. 

Seasonal rates between £550-650p/w

The Lodge

AVAILABLE FOR SHORT TERM FURNISHED LETS (minimum 1 month - maximum 6 months)

Pretty Victorian entrance lodge set in large well fenced garden and looking out over paddocks.

Sleeps 3

Living/dining room including 2 sofas, kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower and hand basin; adjoining WC, 1 double/twin bedroom, 1 single bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Double glazing and gas central heating. Parking for 2 cars. WiFi 

Would suit a professional couple or a small family moving house. 

£400 week or by agreement 

The Loft

Spacious first floor apartment with a very large living area. Access via a spiral staircase to entrance hall, opening into lovely open plan living area, that includes the kitchen.

Sleeps 6.

3 double/twin bedrooms, all en suite with their own shower/bathrooms. All windows double glazed, oil fired central heating gas fire in chimney breast. WiFi

Seasonal rates between £700-800p/w

INFORMATION

FACILITIES

Each of our houses is well equipped. Cooking is by electric cooker except The Lodge, which is gas. The Garden House also has an oil fired AGA. All have refrigerator/freezer, microwave, washing machine, ironing board, vacuum cleaner etc, and a television. The Loft and Garden House also have a tumble drier and dishwasher. High chairs and cots are available on request.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Due to the age and construction of our guest houses, it is not possible to make them more easily accessible for the disabled.
An Access Statement is available on request.

ACCESS STATEMENT

  • Prices include all electricity, gas, oil and water - there are no hidden costs.
  • Minimum let is normally 7 days from Friday or Saturday (except the Lodge)
  • Depature is by 10.00am
  • (If possible) arrivals after 3.00pm
  • No smoking indoors please!
  • Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement at an extra charge (Four Paws Cattery is available next door)
  • Telephones are not provided, but access can be given in an emergency

LOCATION

HOW TO FIND US

FROM A1 NORTH OR SOUTH

Turn off the A1 at the slip road signposted St Neots and Little Paxton, follow the signs for St Neots until you cross the river. Then turn left at traffic lights and after 250 yards turn left at the double mini roundabouts. Follow the road towards Great Paxton and Paxton Hill House is the first entrance on the right after going over the railway bridge

FROM CAMBRIDGE

On the A428 turn right at Croxton, towards Toseland. After 2 miles turn left at the crossroads into Toseland, continue through the village and in 2 miles you will reach a T junction. Turn left; and after 250yards Paxton Hill House is the fifth and last entrance on the left before you go down the hill.

The entrance has Oak palings and the Lodge is on the left inside the gateway. The Garden House and The Loft are further on up the drive.

  • St Neots railway station – 2 miles
  • A1 - 2 miles
  • Cambridge - 18 miles
  • Luton Airport - approx. 45 minutes
  • Stansted Airport - approx. 55 minutes
  • London King's Cross - approx. 45-55 minutes (by train)

  • Paxton Pits Nature Reserve
  • Sailing and fishing facilities at Grafham Water Park
  • Golf at many nearby clubs, including St. Neots, Abbotsley, Brampton and Wyboston
  • Horseracing at Huntingdon and Newmarket
  • Gliding at Great Gransden
  • Many Wildlife Trust parks and points of interest

St Neots has most supermarkets, a swimming pool, gyms and a new multiplex cinema. Market day is Thursday.
